SaraLyn Archibald joined Mark E. Collins at AHS in 2007 after having served as theatre Director at Overton High School for the Performing Arts for more than a decade. The first AHS production she directed, "Steel Magnolias" was selected to perform for the TN State Thespian Conference 2008 followed by the one act "21A" which advanced to the state acting tournament.
While Mr. Collins worked diligently on sets, lights, sound and music, SaraLyn led the AHS Speech & Drama team & a costume construction initiative. SaraLyn graduated from Indiana University with B.A. degrees in Deaf Children's Theatre & Psychology. She received her Master's in Theatre Communications from the University of Memphis and her M.A.T. from Rhodes College. A life long learner, SaraLyn attends the TN Arts Academy at Belmont University annually as well as studying at the University of Colorado at Greeley and at the Patravadhi theatre in Bangkok Thailand. SaraLyn worked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London, England & she loves taking theatre students and families to England, France, New York-Next stop South Africa!!! |
