​Play Production Class
Play Production class is an advanced level theatre class that focuses on backstage aspects of theatre.  Coursework includes elements of theatrical design, ensemble work, set construction, costume construction, light & sound design, stage management and critical analysis of theatre.
Students in this class learn to:
* Demonstrate safety rules & protocol
*Use power tools  work well with others
*Lead by example
*Analyze productions
*Apply constructive criticism appropriately.

Students are required:
*Bring paint clothes, hair ties (if needed) & close toed shoes ASAP. 
    *Bring $50 class fees by 8/25/16. 
    *Bring individual toolbox by 8/26/16.
   *Audition for plays & run auditions 
    *Read four scholarly plays & submit playcard/script for each.        
    *Determine tech roles for fall production. 
    *Attend all tech meetings & dates required for their role**.

 **Jobs, sports, appointments & other extracurriculars are not excused absences from tech dates. All required hours must be worked by all class members. Students should request off for these dates in advance & give employers a copy of performances & rehearsals.

Extra curricular participation fees apply.

*Please note content of plays vary from theatre to theatre and parents/students are to check with the theatre to confirm appropriateness of language and content prior to attending.

ACS Pacing Guides-Play Production classes are customized each year to design, create and execute hands on application of theatre knowledge while meeting all state theatre standards.  Students may take this class multiple years to enhance knowledge of design and construction.
